The Abel Ferrara classic comes to the Grindbin. A movie selected by our Patreon members and one of the greatest exploitation movies ever made. Ms. 45 is a time capsule of New York City in the late 1970's/early 1980's.

Hughes returns for his final Grindbin episode and what better send off than the Cannon Films classic, Revenge of the Ninja (1983)? After his family is brutally murdered by a group of Ninjas, Cho moves to America to become a humble art dealer of G.I. Joes in Ninja costumes. Little does he know, America harbors just as many dangers as the country he left.

A Patreon pick from one of our Grindbin All-Stars, Chuck Rodriguez! Molly (or Angel) is just your everyday straight A student by day, and a Hollywood call girl by night. A truly sleazy epic that is a quintessential Grindhouse movie. If you're a fan of exploitation cinema, this is an episode you can't miss.

Mann, Hughes, Bobby and Mike are here to discuss the Italian/Canadian answer to the 1970's King Kong remake, Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century. When a Yeti of varying size is unfrozen from a fallen glacier he comes to understand that the modern world might not be for him.

One of the greatest exploitation movies ever made makes it's way to the Grindbin. The Cannon Group (Kinjite, Last American Virgin) brings the art of Ninjitsu to American audiences with a movie that was much more successful than it had any right to be. Franco Nero (dubbed and completely miscast) stars along martial arts legend Shô Kosugi and Christopher George (with a scene stealing role) in of the best bad movies ever made.

The boys are back to talk about a film from infamous grindhouse director Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust). Atlantis rises up from the ocean and it's up to two random guys to do... something about it. A complete mess of a movie but a fun ride regardless, The Raiders of Atlantis is an exploitation classic.

Grindbin All-Star Claudia Jennings (Gator Bait) returns to the bin in an early 70's Roger Corman flick about the world of professional roller derby. Michael Tanner (guest from The Thing With The Two Heads) joins Hughes and Mike to discuss this cult classic.

The boys take a trip down to Brazil for their first adventure into the cannibal sub-genre of exploitation film. Marketed as "Cannibal Ferox 2" in the UK despite having literally nothing to do with the first movie, Massacre in Dinosaur Valley is an exercise in the absurd. Rivaling Raw Force in it's random dubbing and nonsensical plot, Dinosaur Valley is an incredibly enjoyable bad movie that is a true hidden gem in the exploitation catalog.

The guys lock themselves into the drive-in for their first expedition into the Ozploitation genre of films. From acclaimed Australian director Brian Trenchard-Smith (Turkey Shoot, BMX Bandits, and a few of Leprechaun movies) comes Dead End Drive-In, a movie about a post-apocalyptic Australia where the government comes up with creative ways to deal with the unemployed. What seems like an episode of the Twilight Zone quickly devolves into something... well we don't really know what to make of it actually.

Summer Sequel month continues with Rudy Ray Moore's followup to Dolemite (Episode 21 of the Grindbin). A movie that's less a sequel and more a re-imagining of the first movie. Dolemite brings down the Mob and a group of racist cops while providing plenty of patented Dolemite one-liners along the way. Human Tornado is an amazing movie and a worthy follow-up to the classic Dolemite.

Hughes, Mann and Mike are joined by Bobby - the newest member of the Grindbin family - to discuss one of our favorite bin movies to date; 1982's Raw Force. The guys from the Burbank Karate club go on a vacation to explore an island for disgraced martial artists expecting some fun in the sun. What they get is a literal prostitute buffet and an island of the damned!

Chris, Hughes and Mike discuss another auteur "masterpiece" in the Grindbin. Duke Mitchell writes, directs, and stars in his own version of the Godfather - complete with a bad Italian accents, crucified pimps, and even a wedding! So break bread and join the boys for a little bit of Sicilian fun in the bin.

Mike is joined by Hughes to discuss one of the most deplorable movies from the vault of Crown International Pictures - 1970's Weekend With the Babysitter. A movie only "Mr. Crown" himself could love; an old pervert falls for his kid's babysitter while his wife is punished for her heroin addiction.

Chris and Mike cover a movie that was literally mailed to them by a listener named Shawn. A mysterious DVD box that fell out of a van somewhere with the wrong title for the movie "The Legend of Bruce Lee" and a stolen poster from another film that was simply photoshopped over. After some significant research Mike and Chris were able to locate the real name of the film and begin to dissect one of the oddest things to ever be pressed into a DVD. Billed as semi-biographical story of Bruce Lee and starring a man named Bruce Le, the film is a complete mess: containing cobra slapping, horrible dubbed audio, Australian accents for Chinese citizens, and crucial plot points that simply happen off-screen. Listen to Chris and Mike attempt to sort through this mess.

Chris and Mike dive into listener request month with the 1974 classic Savage Sisters. A request from listener and friend of the show Shawn. When a corrupt general plans on smuggling a million dollars off a "banana republic" island the local criminal factions scheme to get their hands on it. If you want to request a movie for the next listener request month simply rate and review this show 5 stars in Itunes or any podcasting app and send us your request.

Chris and Mike wrap up Blairvember with a hidden treasure in Linda's filmography, 1987's direct-to-video action film Nightforce. When her friend is kidnapped by a Central American drug cartel Linda enlists the help of her friends to go do something about it; because as the tagline says, " Some People Give a Damn!" We also have an appearance from a very special guest in this episode!

Nov 23, 2016

Blairvember continues with the 1981 slasher flick Hell Night - directed by Grindbin all-star Tom DeSimone. Four college pledges are forced to spend the night in a haunted mansion and find themselves stalked by a not-so-mysterious killer. Will Linda survive? Will she talk loud enough so we can understand her? Did Tom DeSimone learn not to include boom mics in the shots? The answer to these questions and more are answered on this episode of the Grindbin.

Welcome to the Grindbin Halloween Spectacular where Chris and Mike subject themselves to real life terror by forcing themselves to watch Chester Novell Turner's "Tales From the Quadead Zone". If you've listened to the Black Devil Doll from Hell episode of our podcast you'll be very familiar with Chester's work and how much Chris and Mike love it. Quadead Zone is one of the strangest, most incoherent, but fascinating movies ever made.

Chris Mann returns to cover one of the biggest cult classics of all time, 1987's Miami Connection. The good people over at Drafthouse Films have brought this movie back from the dead and if you've never seen this film before and you're a fan of cult cinema you MUST go watch it. Featuring an amazing soundtrack, 5 minute taekwondo demonstrations, and some of the "best" acting to ever grace the silver screen, Miami Connection is a rare treat that is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

This week Chris and Mike delve into a classic film from exploitation auteur Jack Hill - Switchblade Sisters (1975). This forgotten classic is a true gem of grindhouse cinema that offers much more than simply trashy entertainment. Lace - leader of the Dagger Debs - is threatened when a new girl moves onto her turf and catches the eye of her boyfriend Dom. Politics, love triangles, bake sales, this movie has it all!

Jun 8, 2016

Chris and Mike find out just how much trouble one man with a VHS camcorder and a Casio keyboard can get into with this week's "film", Black Devil Doll from Hell (1984). This is without a doubt the worst film Chris and Mike have ever seen; there is absolutely no question about it.

When Helen walked into a curio shop one day she never expected her life to change. Going from a god-fearing woman to a sex craved maniac all because of a simple doll.

Jun 1, 2016

Chris and Mike stay after class to discuss the 1974 thriller, The Teacher, a movie that's not at all what it's advertised to be. What's advertised as a simple sexploitation romp turns into a tale of a predator, her prey, and the inevitable consequences of a relationship that never should have happened.

May 25, 2016

On this episode Chris and Mike delve into an experiment gone wrong with 1973's Invasion of the Bee Girls.

Bodies of men have started to pile up in the small town of Peckham, California; all dead from heart attacks caused by sexual intercourse. It's up to Neil Agar - government agent - to solve the case and find out what mysterious force is behind these strange occurrences.

Later on the show, Chris tries his hand at online dating with Jeanie from The Cheerleaders. Come join the discussion at grindhousefilm.com.

Blood Diner is one of those rare movies that succeeds by being bad on purpose. Typically these types of movies don't come across as genuine and create a false sense of so-bad-it's-good. Bad movies that we remember and talk about are never made to be bad on purpose, they are earnest attempts by filmmakers who simply won't back down in the face of people telling them they are insane. These are the true gems of trash cinema and Blood Diner somehow crosses over this line.

The Director, Jackie Kong, was certainly aware of what she was making but the final product is so bizzare and disjointed from reality that you can't help but laugh. Most of the dialogue (if not all) seems completely re-dubbed in the ADR booth. Exposition is haphazardly fired off by characters (onscreen and off) talking almost in fast forward. This movie is simply one of the most bizzare spectales you will ever witness.

Finally! The amazing people over at Drafthouse Films have released one of the greatest mysteries in LA cinema. In 2005 a strange and mysterious movie appeared in four local movie theathers with absolutely no promotion of any kind. It's director, cast and even basic information couldn't even be found on IMDB. During it's initial run the film only made $70. It gained very little attention online and was doomed to obscurity; that is until now.

Chris and Mike discuss the background of the film: how it was made over the course of two decades, what happened to John Rad, as well as a personal connection Mike has to this film. This is the Mount Everest of bad movies!
