Welcome to the Grindbin Halloween Spectacular where Chris and Mike subject themselves to real life terror by forcing themselves to watch Chester Novell Turner's "Tales From the Quadead Zone". If you've listened to the Black Devil Doll from Hell episode of our podcast you'll be very familiar with Chester's work and how much Chris and Mike love it. Quadead Zone is one of the strangest, most incoherent, but fascinating movies ever made.
Chris and Mike uncover a real hidden gem from the late 80's. A legless woman, an ET-equse sexual assault, a demon cat, a father daughter love triangle and it's all wrapped within a giant commercial for Diet Coke. It's 1988's The Kiss.
Chris and Mike dive into a listener request this week with 1982's The Last American Virgin. A movie that starts as a sex romp and ends with a hard slap in the face of reality. Gary has an unhealthy obsession with Karen (the new girl in town). Will his stalker ways get her to finally love him or will he simply hang himself in his parent's garage? All this and more on this episode of the Grindbin. Thanks to Kevin who rated and reviewed this show on Itunes - which means he got his movie request to the top of the list.
Chris and Mike stumble upon a movie that features the work of two Academy Award winners at arguably the lowest moments of their careers. You probably have never heard of Catch The Heat and while I'm sure some people involved in the production would rather it remained that way, this is a movie that has an incredibly weird and interesting backstory. Everything goes wrong when an FBI agent has to go undercover as a Tango dancer with a terribly racist Chinese accent to catch a drug kingpin. If that sounds insane it's because it is.
